Ginge London Gold Plaque Beanie

GingeGoldPlaque

Ginge London has expanded it’s range beyond the signature ‘studded’ style that it has become known for with the Gold Plaque Beanie.

The highly anticipated new piece received over 500 shares from fans prior to its release creating a high demand for the product, which comes in Black, Burgundy, Grey, Navy and Red each with a Gold Plaque engraved with the Ginge London logo fitted on the front of the cuff.

“I wanted to come up with something slick and classy,” explains Ginge London founder and designer Charlotte Knight. “The Gold Plaque keeps the piece unique and fits the brand. I wanted to bring something out that didn’t incorporate studs to show that the brand is more than just studded snapbacks.”

The piece has already been seen sported by street dance superstars Diversity and the plaque may be an element that reoccurs in further releases. “The weather is warming up now and we’ve got some exciting plans for the Summer!”

FrontCoverWeb

Conscience is the debut EP from up-and-coming East London rapper CONFZ.

Following on from the success of his Morals Over Everything mixtape, CONFZ teams up with SB.TV to release Conscience, a ten track project with no features, that allows us to get further into the mind of the exciting new talent.

Having already released the dark, ‘Deprived’, and a freestyle over the DJ Premier produced ‘Unorthodox’ which gained him the respect of it’s original MC, Joey Badass (which appears here as a bonus track), Conscience is already building anticipation, and it becomes clear why the young rapper is garnering such acclaim right from hitting play.

After feeling more free and creative since the release of his first mixtape, CONFZ shows a lot of improvement with his EP. Demonstrating his ability to deliver a diverse range of styles on an open subject matter, the conscience, particularly allowing him to tap into the darker side of the human psyche, utilising his major strengths as an MC and storyteller.

Paper Plates – Ocean (prod. by Juna Cosmos)

OCEAN

‘Ocean’ is the new single from Paper Plates’ upcoming debut EP Degenerate Art, produced entirely by his friend and collaborator Juna Cosmos, which will be released as a free download on Monday 29th April.

Following up to the duo’s successful debut single ‘Gutter Mouth’ which has received praise from Hot 97, OnSmash and SB.TV amongst others, ‘Ocean’ has been premiered by EarMilk and gives further insight into what’s to come from Degenerate Art.

“The main concept behind ‘Ocean’ is coming into the scene as a brand new artist and having to be confident about what you’re doing. The song itself is conflicted, just as an artist’s self-confidence can be when trying to break into the industry. The hook apologetically counters the ‘best-rapper-alive’ vibe of the verses.” Paper Plates explains.

The 22 and 20 year olds respectively, met at University in Norwich, UK and have spent the past six months preparing to unleash their music into the world. Their debut EP Degenerate Art sees the pair exploring the persecution of modern artists under the Nazi regime – aiming to take the concept and comment on the current state of music/art with a post-modern approach to song-writing and overall composition.

The result is a unique project that draws on a wide and disparate range of influences and is just as likely to reference Kim Kardashian as it is the works of Dante. The project is in itself, a work of modern art.

“The Truth” is a new track from London rapper/MC Janset’s Retrospective EP and demonstrates Distinction’s ability for producing original music beyond the highly successful remixes in his repertoire so far.

Over the last year Distinction has created a phenomenal amount of online attention with his array of remixes of a diversity of tracks from the likes of Frank Ocean, Jessie Ware, Danny Brown and SOHN. “The Truth,” adds another dimension to his musical manifesto his capability of producing original material and working with vocals; the haunting and hypnotic track acts as a powerful and fitting platform for Janset to lay down her unique and poignant lyrics.

His intensiveness for vocal based beats was further highlighted recently with a co-sign from fast rising blog favorite SOHN on Distinction’s remix of his track, “The Wheel,” and with various interviews mounting and 100,000 plays rapidly looming on his Soundcloud its very apparent that Distinction is fully intending to make his mark on 2013.

Paper Plates – Gutter Mouth (prod. by Juna Cosmos)

Paper Plates

“Gutter Mouth” is the lead single from Paper Plates’ upcoming debut EP Degenerate Art which is produced entirely by his friend and collaborator Juna Cosmos.

The video for “Gutter Mouth” draws on the historic side of the concept, addressing the Nazi’s battle against modern art and the modern way of thinking. The video contains several pieces of art from that time period, which relate to the song itself, piecing together the past with the present. Meanwhile the song functions as a stream of consciousness satire on contemporary hip-hop, with a dry lyrical turn of phrase reflecting everything considered both right and wrong with the genre.

CONFZ – Deprived

“Deprived” is the lead single from 20-year-old East London rapper CONFZ’s upcoming ‘Conscience EP’ which drops next week via SB.TV.

After feeling more free and creative since the release of his ‘Morals Over Everything’ mixtape, which saw the up-and-comer demonstrating his ability to deliver a diverse range of styles. CONFZ unleashes the first track from his ‘Conscience EP,’ which sees him spitting over a recreation of SpaceGhostPurrp’s “T.A.P” instrumental (originally used by Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J) courtesy of producer Wonya Love. The track speaks on those who stunt around the deprived and how often this mistake leads them to pay the consequences.

The dark and menacing instrumental is a perfect match for CONFZ tale and delivery and is the perfect introduction to what’s to come from ‘Conscience EP’ which will be available from SB.TV for free download very soon…

Around7

To celebrate the release of Around 7′s (Sébastien Guertau) debut album Back To Basics on Robsoul Jazz on 29th March, the Parisian producer is offering up his first ever release as a free download; an acoustic remix of label head Phil Weeks’ “All Day Every Day” made in collaboration with keyboard player, composer and DJ, Joss Moog.

Having honed his craft for the past 15 years, in a variety of different genres, Back To Basics is a seven track instrumental project that demonstrates Around 7′s acoustic hip-hop sound created by mashing up and improvising with jazz samples, old school hip-hop drum patterns and nu soul production, paying homage to the art of sampling and his Hip Hop influences such as J Dilla and DJ Premier, as well as the jazz of Miles Davis, Bill Evans and the legendary Blue Note Records.

“Most of the time I start with the main sample and i cut it in little pieces to do something different. It makes new melodies or harmonies and i build around it.” says Sébastien of his process.

CONFZ – Think F*cked [Net Video]

Tags

,

“Think F*cked” is the latest video from 20-year-old East London rapper CONFZ, warming up towards the release of his upcoming ‘Conscience EP’ which drops next month.

A contradiction to his usual style, “Think F*cked” sees CONFZ flowing freely and without concept allowing his wordplay and delivery to take the limelight over the Jahlil Beats produced instrumental from Busta Rhymes’ “King Tut.”

The visual, shot by Ikon (responsible for Labrinth’s “No Prisoners” and Ghetts’ “In A Zone”), was shot spontaneously on location as the two came up with the idea for the track, and filming was complete within just twenty minutes, a testament to the organic and authentic nature of CONFZ’ output.

Look out for ‘Conscience’ dropping soon!
